8. Rock

 

   Definition of rock music is a genre of popular music that originated as “rock and roll” in 1950s America and developed into a range of different styles in the 1960s and later, particularly in the United Kingdom and the United States. 

  Musically, definition of rock musicians entered around the electric guitar, usually as part of a rock group with bass guitar and drums. Lyrics often stress romantic love but also address a wide variety of other themes that are frequently social or political in emphasis. The dominance of rock by white, male musicians has been seen as one of the key factors shaping the themes explored in rock music. Rock places a higher degree of emphasis on musicianship and live performance.

The examples of Rock's songs are:

7. Latin

   Latin music is popular music genre that has full spectrum of rhythms and styles from Latin America and the broader Latin world including musical fusions by Latinos in the US as well as genres and artists from European countries such as Portugal and Spain. 

   Latin music is mainly defined by four elements: Music style, geography, cultural background of the artist, and language. For the most part, geography refers to Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. The cultural background includes artists from Latin America or artists with a Latin (Europe)/Latino (US) background. Language refers to Spanish and Portuguese. 

   The examples of Latin's songs are:

6. Rap

 

   Rap music also known as hip-hop music, is a style of popular music believed to have its beginnings in African-American inner-city street culture. Though it has its beginnings in the underground music scene of the 1970s, rap music is today considered a very mainstream music genre, popular among people of all ages and backgrounds. 

   Unlike many other styles of music, rap music is generally not sung. Lyrics are spoken against a backdrop of music. This music often consists of beats and rhythms borrowed from the soul, funk, or rock genres. Rap musicians typically remix these sounds and rhythms, adding their own innovations, and often synthesized musical elements. Rap songs are often known for their focus on controversial themes, such as gang violence. They may discuss their own lives, or they may even write love songs. Performers have even been known to write rap songs about fictional events.

5. Pop

 

  
   The definition of pop music is constantly changing, but at any point in time it may be easiest to identify pop music as that which is successful on the pop music charts. People often confuse pop music with popular music. The New Grove Dictionary Of Music and Musicians, identifies popular music as the music since industrialization in the 1800′s that is most in line with the tastes and interests of the urban middle class. Pop music, on the other hand, has primarily come into usage to describe music that evolved out of the rock ‘n roll revolution of the mid-1950′s and continues in a definable path to today.

   Since the mid-1950′s pop music has usually been identified as the music and the musical styles that are accessible to the widest audience. This means the music that sells the most copies, draws the largest concert audiences, and is played most often on the radio.

4. Jazz

   
   Jazz is a musical style that originated at the beginning of the 20th century in black communities in the Southern United States.It was born out of a mix of African and European music traditions. Its African influence is evident in its use of blue notes, improvisation,polyrhythms, syncopation and the swung note. From its early development until the present day jazz has also incorporated music from American popular music. 

      Jazz is basically a style of music and has a lot of the same characteristics as other music but also treats the basic elements of music in a unique way. The reason why jazz is so unique is its music interpretation. Any melody can be played in a jazz fashion by putting a feeling of triplets behind the basic beat. In fact, one of the common practices of jazz players is to quote melodies from various sources in their solos, including classical pieces.

The examples of jazz's songs are:

3. Electronic.

   ”Electronic music” generally implies the use of electronic instrumentation to create (synthesize) or to manipulate sound. 

      Since then, electronics have become an integral part of most modern music. So today the term “electronic music” only suggests that the quality or character of the music sounds synthetic, processed/manipulated by electronics, as opposed to being performed by acoustic instrumentation.

2. Country

   Country music is American popular music that started  in the rural regions of the Southern United States in the 1920s. It has developed from southeastern American folk music, Western cowboy. We can define country music like ballads and dance tunes with simple forms and harmonies. The most popular instruments in country music are banjoes, electric and acoustic guitars, fiddles, and harmonicas. It has many subgenres and many characteristics. Even today country music is very popular in most parts of United States and all around the world.

1. Blues

 

   Blues Music is music genre that origins from African-American communities of the United States around the end of the 19th century from spirituals, work songs and field hollers, because African-American people in the past were forbidden to talk to each other in the field or at work, so they proved it with melody and rhyme. 

      In lyrics, we define blues as the phrase that is often used to describe a depressed mood. Blues music theory is based on the blues form, specific melancholy lyrics, bass lines and instruments.

    From a Wikipedia, music is an art form whose medium is sound and silence. Its common elements are pitch (which governs melody and harmony), rhythm (and its associated concepts tempo, meter, and articulation), dynamics, and the sonic qualities of timbre and texture. There are many types of music genres.

   The type of music's genre are:

I'm Norshahira Binti Azamuddin and i am 21 years old. I was born at 4th September 1993 at Hospital Sultanah Aminah, Johor. My hometown is at Negeri Sembilan but now i'm staying at Chenor, Pahang. I am a student at Alpha College of Technology and studying Bachelor Business of Administration (BBA) Hons under University Utara Malaysia (UUM). I am an older daughter from 2 siblings. My dream is to become a successful businesswoman on a future.
